CHICAGO, IL-Senator Barack Obama's campaign announced today that more than 442,000 contributors across the country gave more than $40 million in March. More than 218,000 donors contributed to the campaign for the first time, and the average contribution level was $96.

Unlike Mario Diaz-Balart, Garcia Not Transparent About Campaign Contributions

A simple analysis of Joe Garcia's campaign finance report (see attached), shows that Garcia is concealing the source of more than $51,000 in campaign contributions. The decision to cover up the identity of these contributors raises serious questions. Who are these contributors? Are these contributions legal? Were they cash contributions? Did any of these contributions come from outside the United States?

In contrast, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart has reported every contribution and urges Garcia to stop hiding who his contributors are.

"I believe in sunshine and transparency, and I am proud that my campaign disclosed information for every contribution it received. It is disappointing that Joe Garcia refuses to reveal the sources of more than $51,000 in campaign contributions. I urge him to disclose the identity of all his contributors immediately," said Diaz-Balart.
