Air Canada reported fourth-quarter profit of 35 million Canadian dollars ($34.8 million), reversing a year-earlier loss, helped by a stronger Canadian dollar and higher domestic demand. Net income was 35 cents a share, the airline said. A year earlier, Air Canada had a net loss of 144 million Canadian dollars. Revenue increased 3.7 percent, to 2.51 billion Canadian dollars ($2.5 billion). Air Canada, which generates a fifth of its revenue from flights to the United States, had been shifting capacity to domestic routes to avoid a slowdown in the United States. Air Canada?s stock rose 18 percent after the results were released.
