Canada: Toronto-Dominion?s Profit Rises 39%

Toronto-Dominion Bank posted a 39 percent increase in fiscal third-quarter net income on higher profit throughout the company. For the period that ended July 31, the company posted net income of 1.1 billion Canadian dollars ($1 billion), or 1.53 Canadian dollars a share, compared with 796 million Canadian dollars, or 1.09 Canadian dollars a share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 11 percent, to 3.65 billion Canadian dollars, or about $3.43 billion.
