A trade panel in Washington gave final approval to antidumping duties ranging up to 44.30 percent on imports of polyester fiber from China used to make ski jackets, pillows and sleeping bags. The panel, the International Trade Commission, voted 6-to-0 that low-priced imports of the fiber from China had materially injured American producers. The vote clears the way for the Commerce Department to issue a final antidumping order this month. China exported nearly $111 million worth of the fiber to the United States in 2006, up from about $30 million in 2004.
