There is another program called "Adwords". This is the other part. Some companies are Adwords partners. They are paying you and Google when someone is clicking on your Adsense blocks.

A click you can earn 5 cents up to a couple of dollars. Usually you're around 5 to 30 cents per click. Ok, this isn't very much on a single click. We found out that out of 100 distinct page visitors, about 5 people might click on the advertising blocks. So you need some traffic on your site.
