According to many, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has expressed the wish that it would be nice to have a woman election commissioner. While V S Rama Devi has already been on the commission, there aren't that many women around who can fit the bill. Shantha Sheela Nair, an officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, is one candidate.
